Recovery is sweet, even when it’s sticky
Our Mission
Together we cultivate a compassionate and realistic approach to recovery that accepts the good with the bad, the setbacks and rewards and fosters an inclusive, self-paced relationship with body acceptance and self-love, support for the support system and an affordable option for care.
My Coaching Style
Honey was my biggest fear food and it seemed only fitting to embrace it for this part of my story. Recovery is a lot like honey… it takes work to make it work, support from others and dedication from yourself. Sometimes it’s messy and hard to get through, but its sweetness is worth it!
I provide approachable, open, honest Coaching in partnership with you, your support system and medical team. As a trained Health at Every Size practitioner under the Recovery Love and Care Coaching Curriculum, we will walk this path together in a thoughtful, intentional and kind environment. I like to take a consultative approach and really build your sessions in a way that will make you most comfortable and committed to our plan.
How do you know if you could benefit from a Coach?
- Do you feel like you need more support outside of medical appointments and therapy sessions?
- Have you not been formally diagnosed or in treatment, but feel like you could use some guidance when it comes to food and body acceptance?
- Are you a spouse, partner, parent, friend, sibling or coworker who needs help being part of someone’s support team?
- Do you want tips to make sure the young people in your life have support they need to avoid the pitfalls of diet culture and body shaming?
- Are you unsure if you need professional treatment?
- Are you seeking guidance but cannot afford some of the financial commitments to providers or insurance companies?
If your answer is yes to any of these questions or if you have more questions, I would love to have a FREE discovery call with you to see if coaching is a good fit for you! This call takes about 15 minutes, and you can sign up here.
My name is Lori Ramirez. I have navigated my own recovery later in life and it led me to leave corporate America to help others on their journey. I created Nourished Honey to showcase the sweet side of recovery- even when it’s sticky.
My personal story was deep rooted in diet culture, body shaming and chronic illness. I wanted to control my body and situations I never could get under control. I first noticed dangerous habits and thoughts as a very young child. The height of my struggles took over in my mid 20’s and I finally sought treatment in my mid 30’s. Part of the delay was financial limitations, but the other part was fear and denial. I embraced the challenges once I finally sought treatment, but also had my fair share of fighting the help and support being offered. I will never lie and say this was an easy journey… but I will always honestly say that it’s the best thing I ever did.
I had a strong support system within my family and friends, but we all realized they needed support as well with how to help me. Thus, I began thinking about what I needed or wanted in my own recovery and wanted to build that for others. And that brings us here to Nourished Honey.
Honey was my biggest fear food. I loved it, hated it, feared it, binged it, craved it and resented it. Now it’s my reminder of how far I’ve come.
I am originally from Tampa, Florida and moved to Colorado in 2012. I have an incredible husband named John, and we have 2 dogs named Johnny Cash and Paisley. I love to hike and play outside, cook, travel, drink wine and I love hockey! I volunteer with animal rescues, and I feel like everything is better with glitter, color and music.
